I strive to echo the divine design, whether painting with oil or drawing with a pencil. The greatest pleasure for me is to convey the feeling of life in the subject, whether it’s the movement of a flower’s petals as it opens, the sway of a tree branch in the wind, or how leaves create a particular shape under their weight.
Especially delicate is the work on portraits. Here, I must see not just a face but the personality, character, and unique qualities of the individual.
